It’s time to go Radical because our world is pressure sensitive!
It’s a fact that every year, more than 500 million kg of pressure sensitive adhesive tape is manufactured from solvent based adhesives systems. This represents a massive greenhouse challenge. The solvents have to be burnt off, recycled (using large amounts of energy), or (in some countries) discharged into the air. The result is a massive load on our environment.
At I.N.C. we have recognised for quite some time that our world IS pressure sensitive. But the only acrylic adhesives that were available to us came in solvents that pollute our world.
Unacceptable!.
That’s why we have designed and developed Radical tapes. 100% acrylic tapes, with all of the high performance, long-life benefits of acrylic resins, but without the nasties. To protect our world requires a radical new approach – and that is what we have taken.
A radical approach
Radical tapes are manufactured using 100% solids acrylic oligomer resins. These low molecular weight resins are cross-linked by exposure to intense ultra violet light. This technology has created our radical new range of industrial specialty tapes with performance that in many cases exceeds that of solvent based products.
Everything about us is radical.
For a start, we are located in Australia. A long way from those countries recognised as leading producers of pressure sensitive adhesive tapes.
Secondly, I.N.C. is a new entrant into this market, but we are not inexperienced. We are materials engineers with accreditation to both ISO 9001 and QS9000, as well as experience as a supplier of pressure sensitive adhesive materials into demanding industries for over 20 years. We understand pressure sensitive adhesive tapes both from a quality, and from a user perspective. Sometimes a new entrant is required to shake existing players out of their complacency.
Thirdly, we are young, and enthusiastic. But that helps when you are doing something radical.
Fourth, we know that designers and specifiers are concerned to select products that care for our world. Being conventional cannot satisfy modern environmental management strategies.
Finally, we think radically. At I.N.C. we believe in innovation through technology and teamwork. We spend well over 10% of sales revenue on R&D. Our top team of professional engineers and scientists doesn’t give up when things get sticky. All of these factors give us our advantage. Tradition and convention just simply do not bind us.

Physical properties have been verified by exhaustive testing in Australian and European laboratories. This confirms the exceptional properties of Radical tapes. Product validation, by way of field trials on passenger vehicles, as well as on heavy trucks operating in the Australian desert, has proven that Radical tapes can take the load under real life conditions.

Radical adhesion to nearly anything
Radical tapes adhere to low energy surfaces, such as polypropylene and polyethylene. They even ensure adhesion to powder coatings that can cause ordinary adhesives to become unstuck.
High temperature resistance
Radical tapes are used in the automotive industry to secure NVH pads to moulded engine covers, where temperatures can reach over 150°C.
High adhesion
High levels of adhesion are achieved almost immediately,unlike solvent-based systems where adhesion builds gradually over 24 hours or more.
Exceptional holding power
Radical tapes will hold 1kg from 25 x 25mm (2.2lbs from1in x 1in) almost indefinitely.
Durable adhesion
The pure acrylic chemistry of radical tapes ensures long term adhesion for the life of the component. This is achieved without the addition of tackifiers and resins that can evaporate over time, leading to potential reliability problems.
IN CONCLUSION
All of this means that manufacturers can depend on the long term adhesion of Radical tapes for seals, gaskets, insulation, labels, or whatever, especially to the surfaces that can cause concern with some other tapes.
